More Daisy
Daisy was spayed two weeks ago and I'm worried about how she is healing. It doesn't help that she won't settle down and stop wrestling with Boogie. She also made a new friend. Michelle and John have been bringing their puppy Tessa over to play with Daisy and they are soooo cute together. Boogie is jealous so he doesn't always play nice. Daisy is getting bigger every day and I think she will end up being the tallest dog I've ever owned. Here are some of the latest shots.

Where has the time gone by?
I haven't posted anything since May and I really don't know why. I had a wonderful summer. Out trip to England was wonderful as well as the rest of my summer vacation. Work has started and I found a new pup.
This is my Daisy dog. The cutest, most wonderful mutt ever found. She was cowering in the corner of a MARTA bus stop on a very busy road. At first she didn't want to let me pick her up, but I just grabbed her and that was it. Now, she is going to enjoy a life of leisure, wearing stupid outfits, and just loving running around her big yard with her dog buddies, Boogie and Bubba.

Getting Ready for Summer
It's the start of May, Mothers Day to be exact, and we spent the weekend cleaning up the yard and getting ready for summer. Woody and I have made a habit of waiting for all of the leaves to drop and the weather to change before we head out into the yard and making an effort to clean up. Here are some pictures of our progress.
We had so many bags of leaves and assorted yard debris that the next morning when we came outside half of the bags were missing. It looks like the leaf bags are hot property.
But all of the hard work is worth it once it is done.
For dinner, Michelle and John came by and enjoyed barbecued Red Fish. Woody made margaritas that were full bodied, to say the least. One was enough for me. Happy Mothers Day!!!

So what's new?
It's been over a month since my last post and things have been happening, some good and some bad. Oliver is missing and we pretty much think that he's not coming back. Woody gets to stay home for two weeks in a row and then gone for one week to San Antonio, which is great!!!
Papa is doing great since his heart attack. Mom, Nina and her pack came for a visit and Bubba took it in the eye, which is bad. But he's okay and healed up fine.

And we have a new addition from DeKalb Animal Control. Meet Samantha......

Inlet Beach 2010
I just love going a on Girls Weekend, especially when it includes my favorite girl friends. Cathy was nice enough to once again invite Michelle, Debbie and I to her house in Inlet Beach. It's really nice and of course, since it's on the Gulf the beaches are the most beautiful in the world.
The main purpose of our trip was to improve our tennis skills and fortunately for us the tennis is first class at Rosemary Beach. We took two lesson then played in a round robin. I am please to say that for the third year in a row, Michelle was number 1 and this year Cathy came in second! There are some really nice gals that are members and live in the area that come and play with us year after year. It's nice to see the same faces, which makes us regulars and Rosemary Beach is a place I don't mind being called a regular.
The weather was a bit nippy, but this has been an exceptionally cold winter. The sun was shining so we all came home with tan faces and chapped lips. I can't wait until the summer comes so that I can go to the Gulf and spend time on the beach.
Rosemary Beach is really a great place and what a wonderful idea to build a kind of European town with shoppes and restaurants.
Here we are once again, the dog belongs to the lady that was nice enough to take our picture.

Valentine's Day
It's Valetine's day and Woody is home. We spent the day doing what we enjoy most, Woody playing tennis , and me shopping and eating. We went for dinner at Wahoo's in Decatur. We enjoyed the meal and it was nice to get out on a Sunday night. Tomorrow is Presidents Day. I have the day off but I'll be working anyway.

It's Snowing in Atlanta 2010
The weather event predicted actually happened. Snow moved in from the west, the same storm that blanketed Monroe La. is now here. Delta canceled all flights in and out of Hartsfield-Jackson Airport so Woody is stuck in San Antonio. I'm hoping that his flight won't be delayed tomorrow too. The snow started around 2:00, I feel asleep and woke up an hour later to a winter wonderland.
Now the trick will be getting out of the driveway tomorrow morning.........
I took Andy Roddick outside to play in the snow. He was funny to watch and as usual didn't listen.

Sick Weight Loss
Well, what started out like a great idea has turned into a disaster. I was faithful to my new diet, even found the supplemental food to be pretty good,(especially the caramel bar) and all I have gotten has been a severe migraine headache and night sweats. To add insult to injury, when I refilled by Zomig the co-pay from my insurance company has gone from $10 to $75 for 12 pills.
So I need a new plan. As I have lost 7 pounds this week and don't want to gain it back, but can't continue to follow this diet, I will do what I should have done in the first place. I will call a nutritionist from the wellness program my insurance company offers. And since I have 7 days to cancel my membership and get my money back. I will do that too. Finally I will eat a little crow with the friends that I have told about my dive into dieting and tell them I wasn't able to participate in this diet. But more than anything I have to get rid of this headache!
I'll keep you posted...........

Quick Weight Loss Day One......
Well I finally bite the bullet and paid the money to the Quick Weight Loss Center to lose the 50 lbs. I seem to have found over the years. Today is day one and I've decided that no matter what, I'm going to see this through. I'll drink the nasty drinks, eat the tasteless salads and suffer through the bottle after bottle of water. I'm told this portion of the diet only lasts for a few days and truth be told, the protein bar was pretty good. So for the record, it's 197 and counting down!
Tonight Woody and I are off to a Superbowl party in our neighborhood. I've made red beans and rice which I won't be eating. Of course we want the Saints to win, but it remains to be seen if Woody can stomach watching the whole game. Since we don't have any Saints gear, we'll be wearing the LSU colors, complete with my new purple handbag. Pictures to come!

The RV Show
No pictures which was a big mistake, but today Woody, Debbie, Russ and I all went to the RV show at the Atlanta Exposition Center off of Jonesboro Rd. I loved it! Woody, well let's just say he is not on board with this idea. I found the RV that I want. $17,000. 24 feet, one slider, bathroom with shower, and the beds are pop outs, so the the RV itself has plenty of living space. I can see myself taking the Boogie and the Bubba to Florida for several weeks each summer to enjoy the Gulf and vacation together. Woody can meet us, or on his weeks off he can work out of the RV. I'm hoping that if I work on Woody for a while, I'll be heading south in a few years!
Girls Night Out and Other Stuff
The girls met up again, this time for sliders at the Shed in Glenwood Park, Atlanta. The restaurant was really nice and the food almost as good as the company! I just love getting together with my women friends to talk about the things we enjoy, share and love. Debbie, Michelle and I are in the back. The only friend missing was Cathy. Next up, pictures from Florida!

Check out the Sliders. Pictured are the barbeque goat, fried green tomato and goat cheese, in the back the fried mushroom and bluecheese.

January 2010
The new year has started and I haven't posted anything yet. Not that life has been so boring, I've just been busy. I caught a cold from a friend which has made me lose my voice. Work has been busy and stressfull but that is nothing new.
The Australian Open is on and Woody and I agree that life is better when there is Tennis on TV.
